This position will require the candidate to report and work from our corporate office in Temple, TX or in Carrollton, TX. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from one of those corporate offices.
Responsible for overseeing all facility construction, maintenance and repair, as well as all facility design and development coordination. The individual must have the technical and project management skills to manage large-scale construction projects and the understanding and knowledge to oversee all types of industrial construction projects. In addition, this position has primary responsibility for feasibility and capital planning to keep projects on track and to identify best solutions and alternatives to provide capacity to meet project needs. This position is responsible for management of all personnel and contractors involved in the above activities, as well as project and department budgets.

Essential Job Functions:

Oversee the management of all personnel, activities, and budgets related to facilities and construction.Provide strategic direction for DC layouts, including site, exterior, and interior designs.Ensure effective response protocols for after-hour emergencies, such as power failures and refrigeration equipment failures.Lead construction project management efforts, either directly or through general contractors.Supervise the provision of technical support to field teams on building equipment and systems.Establish and maintain DC building and building equipment specifications.Oversee the specifications, purchasing, and installation of DC furniture.Direct the design, specification, installation, and maintenance oversight of refrigeration equipment.Manage utility contracts and monitor usage to ensure efficiency.Play an active leadership role in contract and lease negotiations.Oversee the review of Common Area Maintenance reconciliations.Guide the selection process for new sites.Maintain and manage national vendor programs, including refrigeration agreements, dock equipment, and fire protection.Lead the preparation of annual operating budgets and the development of short and long-term plans.Review and approve DC CAPEX proposals.Approve project invoices and ensure financial accountability.Ensure that files and documentation are organized and sufficient to support warranty work and the company’s position in case of construction or performance issues.Oversee the creation, management, and analysis of RFPs for major building projects.Stay informed about developments in building systems and technology, and analyze their application to company facilities, making recommendations to senior management.
Minimum Qualifications Requirements:

Have Bachelors Degree in Business, Construction Engineering, or Civil Engineering. We can consider years of experience in construction management in lieu of degree in specified field.Have field operations senior leadership experience of at least 4 years.Have a strong grasp of basic financial skills and ability to define/execute analyses. Possess ability to identify financial issues and provide cost effective solutions to such issues. Understand different business functions and how they interact.Be able to quickly learn and acquire new skills as needed to support the business.Have strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to speak effectively with customers, key Executives, and Teammates.
