Century Engineering, a Kleinfelder company, is seeking a responsible candidate for the position of Construction Inspector to join our team. The person filling this role will work on a variety of interesting projects based out of our Hunt Valley, MD office. The successful candidate will have some knowledge of performing construction inspection and material testing. Projects may consist of water and sewer installations, roadways, bridges, sidewalks, buildings and/or stormwater management.

 

Responsibilities:

Provide inspection of construction activities and record details on an Inspector's Daily Report (IDR) and/or other reports as necessaryAssure compliance with construction plans and specificationsDocument quantities of work completed for paymentProvide materials testing (soil, concrete and HMA) and record test resultsAssist in review and response to contractor RFIsAttend job meetings and assist in the preparation of minutesTravel to various work sites

 

Qualifications: 

High School Diploma or GEDCurrent/valid Driver's License with demonstrated safe driving practices and reliable transportationMinimum of two years of experience in construction, construction inspection or construction contract administrationStrong organizational skillsBasic knowledge of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel)Basic math skills including the ability to measure and record linear measurements and compute volume and area for geometric shapesExcellent written and oral communication skillsOutstanding customer service skills, either in-person, via telephone or via emailEfficiency, accuracy and strong attention to detailAbility to work in a team-oriented environmentStrong computer skills, including e-mail and formal correspondence as well as good file management practicesMust be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluentlyAbility to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
