We are currently seeking an Construction Inspector to join our Facilities & Infrastucture team.

SUMMARY

We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our team to support our client in Newark, NJ. The ideal candidate will have experience in rail and public transit projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, specifications, and contract requirements. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and integrity of construction projects from inception to completion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct on-site inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes. Monitor work progress and report on quality, safety, and project timelines. Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to address issues and implement solutions. Review and approve material submittals and shop drawings. Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, observations, and communications. Prepare inspection reports and documentation for project stakeholders. Participate in safety meetings and promote a culture of safety on job sites. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in construction inspection, with a focus on rail and public transit projects. Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and construction practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in using inspection tools and software. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
