Construction Inspector
Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for Construction Inspectors who are familiar with the natural gas industry, underground construction and/or inexperienced people willing to learn the natural gas utility business. The project is from Kingston, NY to Fishkill, NY, with preference to the Poughkeepsie Area. Colliers Engineering & Design’s bridge experts partner with our clients to understand project objectives, while formulating solutions that result in successful outcomes that are safe, efficient, economical and sensitive to the environment. This highly skilled team of professionals offers a full range of bridge services from scoping, planning and preliminary engineering through final design, for small to large scale bridges. Responsibilities + Inspect, observe and report on the labor forces of construction and maintenance activities across our clients natural gas service territory. + Inspectors will also be utilized to perform audits, (both field and record), gather pre and post job information, and assist our client personnel with office tasks, (paperwork filing, sorting, researching etc.). + Inspectors will be used primarily to observe third party contractors, but may be assigned to our clients gas crews. Qualifications + High school diploma or better, experience in natural gas industry preferred. + Candidates should be able to work hard, learn and be proficient, respectable and dependable. + Work will predominantly be outside for most of the year. + Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
