Construction Inspector Aid

As a Construction Inspector Aid, you'll be supporting higher level inspectors and engineers on assignments relating to highway and bridge construction inspection. Work is generally performed under technical and administrative supervision and may include other duties and responsibilities as assigned. You'll perform a range of routine and standardized work including, but not limited to, manual and/or electronic calculations, computations, and inspections of construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract. Employee will inspect truck load tickets for roadway aggregate base course; borrow material and asphaltic concrete at project field sites. You'll perform a variety of simple materials sampling, inspection and/or testing. You'll perform contract administrative duties, which may include field measurements of pay item quantities, project close-out, as well as other department required documentation. High School Diploma or GED Skill in use of computers (i.e., Microsoft Office, e-mail, internet) General knowledge of mathematical functions Ability to read and interpret such things as construction plans, contract provisions, and inspection procedures, and good communications Shall be licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with Georgia Law Ideally, you'll also have: Knowledge of surveying, highway construction, or design.
