Construction Management Intern
**Job Overview:** The Program Management/Construction Management (PMCM) Division of APTIM is seeking an experienced and talented Project Engineer / Construction Management Intern to join our team and work on construction projects in New York City. The candidate will be supporting projects from concept through design, construction, commissioning, and closeout. APTIM's internship program provides students with the opportunity to apply skills gained in an academic setting to challenging projects and meaningful work assignments. Interns will be paired with experienced mentors and should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, finishing their internship having gained a broad experience in various aspects of working in Project Engineer/ Construction Management. **Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:** + Work tasks will be a combination of office work and visits to project construction sites. + Participate in project meetings with engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders. + Review construction drawings, project schedules, project administrative and execution plans and read project specifications. + Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage the project in accordance with Client's policies, procedures, systems, and requirements. + Shadow CMs (construction managers), PMs (project managers), Supers (superintendents), Engineers, and others to learn daily job functions, responsibilities, and reporting. + Provide construction management and project engineering, including managing scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, and change orders for facilities and buildings, associated infrastructure, and site improvements. + Ensure contractors remain on-schedule and under budget for project delivery. + Assist with review and manage construction project aspects such as RFIs and Submittals; ensure all stakeholders and responsible parties are on time and thorough with responses and directives. + Assist with overview activities of technical and administrative support and ensure that deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget. + Coordinate and resolve issues with various project stakeholders including but not limited to architects/engineers, contractors, and sub-contractors. + Assist with scheduling, conducting, and documenting meetings, site/project HSE data, Audits, + Assist to ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures. **Basic Qualifications:** + Attending an accredited educational institution pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. + Preference is for candidates to have completed their junior year in college with expected graduation in 2025 or be Graduate students. + Must have the ability to work as a team player. + Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills. + Must be a self-starter, excel in time management, and work well under pressure. + Must be available to work in various settings such as in office or remotely in the field, depending on department needs. + Passionate for improving the built environmental and infrastructure of our community. + Must be at least 18 years of age. + Must be local to New York City (midtown) office or willing to relocate (no relocation expense). + Must have experience with MS Office software, including but not limited. + Position pays $23.00 per hour. **ABOUT APTIM** APTIM is committed to accelerating the transition toward a clean and efficient energy economy, building a sustainable future for our communities and natural world, and creating a more inclusive and equitable environment that celebrates the diversity of our communities.
