DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is actively seeking a Construction Manager to join our Harrisburg team.  As a part of our Construction Management Team, the Construction Manager will help ensure the construction of highways and bridges is performed and managed according to the plans and specifications.   Responsibilities include: 

Build and maintain relationships with the client managers.  Act as an agent of the client in dealing with contractors. Oversee the contractor activities and facilitate resolution of issues, such as performance, construction schedules, and claim resolution. Evaluate the contractor’s issues and determine levels of risk for the owner Assist in pre-construction activities focusing on schedule delivery and risk minimization. Evaluate contractor’s activities and recommend courses of action to address risks. Monitor the contractor’s performance as it pertains to delivering a program.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Four-year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (PE preferred) 7+ years of experience including extensive construction management and inspection experience on transportation projects including, highway, bridge, railroad, and associated work and experience on PennDOT / Turnpike projects. PE license in PA A valid driver’s license and personal transportation Experience with Scheduling, Cost Estimating and Value Engineering

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $97,561 to $145,359.  This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
