Construction Manager
The position will focus on providing support for a wastewater Consent Decree through managing a team of inspectors and coordinating with various contractors on a number of wastewater collection system assessment and rehabilitation contracts. The position requires excellent technical skills in the wastewater collection field combined with an acumen for communication, consulting and client service. • Manage a team of inspectors working on multiple wastewater collection system assessment and rehabilitation contracts. • Assigning inspectors to sites on a daily basis based on schedules from contractors and reviewing/approving Inspection Daily Reports. • Perform site visits daily to ensure safety requirements are being upheld by the contractors and enforced by the inspectors. • Conduct regular meetings with inspection team to review technical specifications for contracts, review safety concerns, ensure team is current on training, certifications, PPE, etc. and review any outstanding issues on permits, work on site, etc. • Meet with contractor in field to perform reconnaissance, troubleshoot issues, and evaluate proposed methods. • Document any agreed upon processes or solutions to issues as discussed on site. • Act as a liaison with property owners on site, providing information on work to be completed and documenting property owners concerns. Recommend solutions to team and client. • Participate in regular contractor meetings in office • Communicate with Project Manager progress and issues identified on site. • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or other applied subjects • Minimum 20 years’ technical experience in wastewater conveyance systems • NASSCO certification (MACP and PACP) • Experience with MS Office • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Experience with inspection services for wastewater collection systems Preferred Qualifications • Wastewater Collection System Operator License • Experience with ArcGIS, Cityworks • Experience in consent decree programs Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
