Facility Engineering Services, a Burns McDonnell company, is looking for a Construction Manager that has a desire to apply their experience, while actively engaging with the client and following a project from the completion of design through commissioning and operation. This opportunity is full-time, Monday through Friday, working day-shift at the Kansas City National Security Campus facility in Kansas City, MO. Occasional evening and weekend work is necessary to support construction schedules.

You will engage with both the designers and the client as part of an in-house team. Minimal travel is involved as the construction work is local to the Kansas City-based facility.

Responsibilities include:

Working as an Owner’s Representative on a wide portfolio of simultaneous construction projects at the facility. Project include a wide range of scopes from small to complex with varying schedules.Interacting with the client and contractor’s team to execute the construction scope and to communicate regular status updates or construction-related issues such as work procedures, complaints, and impairments to utilities or surrounding spaces.Inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, production quality, and other established requirements.Where needed, getting direction or clarification from the multi-discipline project design team.Actively developing relationships with all levels of the client organization, promoting client satisfaction.Demonstrating creativity, foresight, and judgement in anticipating and solving problems.Other duties, as assigned.
