Raba Kistner is seeking an enthusiastic Construction Materials Technician II to join our team in Houston, TX. The Construction Materials Technician II is responsible for conducting field or laboratory testing, sampling, and/or inspection services.
Communicate with dispatcher/coordinator to ensure priorities and deadlines are met in both the field and laboratory.Meet with supervisors of contractors, engineer/architect representatives and/or other project leads on project sites to discuss and coordinate testing, sampling or inspection of construction materials or construction procedures.Following safety protocols, ensure safe utilization, storage and maintenance of all nuclear gages and field equipment.Communicate project progress and delays to supervisor and dispatcher.Submit accurate and complete testing/inspection reports on a daily basis.Drive company vehicles to job sites in a safe manner.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
High School diploma or GED certification preferred. Must have at least one year of applicable experience in the materials testing and inspection industry and posses one or more certifications such as:

Must possess a valid state driver’s license and meet Company's auto insurability requirements. Posses Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course to utilize nuclear gauges, Technician Training and Certification Program (TTCP) from the Texas State Highway and Transportation Department, or ability to complete within 6 months of employment Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc. Good oral and written communication skills including the ability to write short correspondences, notes, letters and memos. Must be safety minded and willing to put safety first in performing all duties.

Work environment includes potential exposure to movement of heavy equipment on construction or roadway sites; potential exposure to hazardous dangerous chemicals and solvents, noise, dust, fumes, grease and oils, radiant and electrical energy, and vibration; all of which would require employee to follow implement and follow proper safety procedures and utilize appropriate protective equipment. Regular use of non-complex machines and equipment and hand tools such as sledgehammers, shovels and picks. Work assignments are frequently performed outside in all weather conditions.
This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
