Job Description
In this position, the engineering technician will be involved with field observation, inspecting, and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt placement. Daily communication is required with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers. The candidate should have the knowledge and ability to perform observations, inspections, and tests of construction projects and document findings in accordance with accepted engineering practice. Following inspections, the individual will be expected to turn in daily, weekly, and monthly reports to verify the data collected in the field.
ResponsibilitiesConduct field observation, inspection, and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt placement.Communicate daily with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers.Perform observations, inspections, and tests of construction projects.Document findings according to accepted engineering practice.Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to verify field data.Essential Skills2+ years of recent experience in the field.Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial sectors.Knowledge and experience in soils (concrete experience is a plus).Clean driving record.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Intermediate level computer skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsACI certification preferred.Certifications such as ICC (Structural, Concrete Masonry, etc.), NICET, TROXLER, QMS.Experience with Our Client DOT.Work Environment
The individual will be working in the field nearly 100% of the time. The projects will be within residential subdivision development to confirm the soil can support the construction, as well as in commercial and industrial sectors.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $10.00 - $20.00
