Construction Materials Testing Project Manager with PE
As a **Project Manager** , you will be responsible for project management and oversight of assigned projects for the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) department. This position will complete projects for both new and existing clients. **Responsibilities** + Travel safely to various job sites in a company provided vehicle + Coordinate and manage technician staff to complete testing and inspections per contract documents + Mentor technicians, staff professionals and junior level managers + Provide on-site project management as required + Generate reports, recommendations and other documentation needed by clients + Conduct site meetings, develop estimates, and provide recommendations for prospective and current clients + Create, prepare and update project proposals and technical reports in a timely manner + Develop and manage projects with new and existing clients, ensuring profitability + Review, update and approve invoices weekly for on-going projects + Maintain excellent communication both verbally and electronically with senior management, other project managers, field staff and colleagues + Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and integrity + Follow all company safety procedures and policies + Other tasks as assigned **Qualifications** + Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record + Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related construction sciences from an accredited university + Required: Professional Engineer (PE) License with designations in VA, DC and MD, or able to get reciprocity for those states + Required: 2-3 years of Geotechnical/CMT full-time work experience with degree + Knowledge of geotechnical and construction materials testing methods, ASTM standards, and soil classifications + Ability to calculate results from geotechnical/construction materials testing data + Ability to read and interpret construction documents + Ability to accurately complete field-testing paperwork and detailed figures + Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions + Ability to write technical reports, proposals, business correspondences and/or procedure manuals as needed + Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, detailed reports, short correspondence and memos + Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public + Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to use technology/computer + Strong leadership skills and an eye for detail + Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel **Team:** Construction Services Department **Work Type:** Full-Time / Hourly **Location Type:** onsite
