ABOUT THE JOB:

WillScot seeks an experienced Construction/Project Manager to support the front-end pre-construction phases of our custom complex construction projects by: 

Interacting with customers and prospects, with our sales team, to present capabilities and develop scopes of work Participating in bid/proposal development, deal structuring and approval from a technical and feasibility perspective Preparing estimates from RFPs, preparing the technical package and establishing project budgets 

This is a forward-facing role interacting heavily with the WillScot sales team, customers and the construction services team.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Day to Day activities may include:

Customer Service

Communicating WillScot capabilities Selling the modular solution and benefits and educating the customer Qualifying the opportunity through direct communication with the Customer & clear understanding of project requirements Assembling project information and developing project program requirements Reviewing the proposed site, existing conditions/utilities and physical restrictions 

Sales Support

Providing VALUE by elevating the technical credibility of WillScot Assisting the sales team in qualifying the Customer and opportunity Minimizing business risk through accurate assessment of project feasibility Providing general technical assistance and support: training and mentoring when needed Maintaining constant dialogue with regards to market/industry trends, customers and new opportunities Constantly communicating status on bids/proposals in progress, technical deal structuring and customer interaction

 Technical Support

Reviewing and qualifying bid/RFP documents Reviewing blueprints and specifications, and performing take offs Ensuring CS representations in pre-bid meetings and job walks Participating in prebid meetings/job walks/and subcontractor qualifications Developing project strategy and “Win Factors” Technically structure the deal and identify cost efficient ways to provide the Customer with an optimum solution Ensure Go/No Go reviews are scheduled on every project that is equal to or larger than (4) units Offering value added product and service solutions, i.e. site services Investigating state and local building codes and regulations Developing project scope of work Managing vendor and subcontractor selection including qualifying A/E firms Reviewig all subcontractor RFQs as solicited by vendors Developing the project baseline estimate Assembling the Technical Package and conducting internal reviews Delivering Technical to Sales Rep and communicating strategies Developing milestone project schedule; working with the SPM to develop elaborate and detailed project schedules Developing the project budget Obtaining hard-costs from selected vendors and subcontractors at win Scheduling Project Kick-off Reviews with the project team following award Communicating regional bid activity on a weekly basis to the regional and corporate teams Monitoring pre-construction progress including but not limited to preliminary and final drawings, proposal writing and submittal to the customer Maintaining project schedules up to date and enforcing accountability measures on all front-end (bid activity) reporting Conducting Post Mortem reviews to evaluate lost opportunities Maintaining CS process and SOP 

Project Support

Manage assigned projects Interpret plans, estimates and quantities of materials needed Execute on approved plans, estimates, and procurement of work plan Review contractor quotations and complete purchase requisitions required Identification and solicitation of potentially new subcontractors. Execute on planned construction budgets, procedures and schedules. Review bidding and contract documents to ensure adherence to the applicable requirements Examine building contract documents and negotiate with building owners and subcontractors any change orders
  EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

A successful CM candidate:

Has a Bachelor's degree (construction or engineering preference) and 3 years of experience estimating projects  OR a high school degree and 5 years of estimating experience Can perform effective blueprint take-offs Can delineate subcontractor scopes of work Is proficient in MS Project or other construction scheduling software Can effectively use construction management/project management software Has customer service and sales presentation skills to assist Sales Managers in closing deals Including proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint A solid background in building trades and/or site development Strong attention to detail and company processes and procedures

All WillScot team members must have:

PC Proficiency in Windows environment and MS Office Suite Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills  Extensive travel required and frequency of overnight travel dependent upon geographic territory The highest levels of integrity An unwavering commitment to SAFETY

Regional up to National travel of approximately 30% may be required.
