Job Title: Construction Project Engineer
Job Description
Analyze information gathered at site inspections, blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. A basic understanding of surveying practices and accompanying equipment is required. Coordinate and conduct pre-construction surveys to identify potential risks, verify original site conditions, and attend pre-construction meetings. Oversee project schedules, monitor overall construction progress, and ensure the timely ordering and inventory of contract materials.

Responsibilities
+ Coordinate project schedules and monitor overall construction progress.
+ Review subcontract quotations with the project estimator and participate in subcontract negotiations and preparation.
+ Work directly with subcontractors and monitor subcontractor pay estimates and submittals.
+ Review vendor/supplier quotations with the project estimator and ensure timely ordering of contract materials.
+ Monitor all required submittals, such as certificates, shop drawings, catalog cuts, samples, and ensure that all pay invoices are reviewed, cost-coded, approved, and submitted for payment.
+ Supervise submittal of control data and maintain project files, including plans, specifications, budget information, schedules, correspondence, and design changes.
+ Coordinate Quality Control testing and inspection by various agencies.
+ Prepare, process, and submit project documentation, such as RFIs, shop drawings, and notifications of changes to the owner for approval.
+ Maintain current RFI and Submittal Logs.
+ Estimate, prepare, and submit Change Order requests to the owner and negotiate Change Orders, including all associated costs.
+ Oversee the implementation of adequate safety plans, safety meetings, method statements, and safe working practices as required by the company and the state.
+ Prepare and process all project closing documentation, including 'as-built' drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, final acceptance letters, Notice of Completion, final billing invoices, retention billing, and obtain lien releases from subcontractors and material suppliers.

+ Proficiency with HCSS HeavyJob, HeavyBid, MS Project, or similar construction management software
+ Onsite construction experience required
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent field experience strongly preferred
Work Environment
The work environment includes project sites with ongoing construction activities. You will need to adhere to occupational safety and health regulations and other state and federal regulations governing the construction industry. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
