Construction Safety Assistant

Description

•Assist the Safety Director in conducting construction site visits (multiple per day)

•Enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations.

•Ensure all field personnel are supported with task specific PPE.

•Collaborate with project managers and the safety director to address safety concerns and develop site specific safety plans. This may include JHA’s or a specific safety plan.

•Assist with incident reporting and investigation on jobsites. This includes working with HR to assist the insurance process and documenting any observations onsite.

•Onsite representation for any OSHA investigation.

•Assist in creating and presenting monthly safety trainings to Lehigh personnel.

•Assist in selecting prevalent weekly toolbox talks for all Lehigh employees.

•Assist with keeping certifications and compliance affiliations current (ISNetworld, Avetta, etc..)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

•Relevant certifications such as CHST, OSHA 500 trained, OSHA 30 etc.. (preferred not required. If not possessed a desire to obtain in the near future.

•Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other safety standard that are relevant.

•Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify hazards and implement solutions.

•Professional and thorough verbal and written communication skills.

•Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (preferred not required)

•A strong desire to continue to improve safety knowledge.

•Ability to travel to job sites (includes out of town work periodically) mileage = $.70/mile

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
