Construction Safety Engineer

Responsibilities: 

Manage specified contractor’s daily construction safety activity, be able to identify issues and take corrective actions timely.Ensure construction contractors follow all regulations and rules Taiwan local government and Air Products safety specification & standards during construction.Work with Construction site manager to develop construction safety execution strategy and detailed planSupport site safety manager to develop construction site specific safety training and audit plan as needed. Monitor any third party or vendor site representative’s site safety activities.Monitor and ensure contractor's compliance to Air Products Safety Standards.Report to site safety manager or construction site manager on any potential safety issue and unsafe conditions before construction starts. This report must include the planned actions to promote safety awareness and eliminate unsafe conditionsTimely submit all necessary audit and reports to site manager and site safety manager. Attend weekly on-site construction meeting with the assigned contractors and their subcontractors as required.Field safety status photographs shall be taken throughout the process of constructionReport near miss and accidents in timely and attend incidents investigation as required. Perform and complete BSP activities (APTs, TSO, SOS, QSO, CSA, site weekly safety audit) as planned target in timely. Guide and manage contractors to comply with AP specifications, job safety analysis (JSA) and construction hazardous work permit (CHWP), material loading/unloading procedure.Conduct various safety inspection such as equipment/tools, scaffolding, electrical system and so on.Complete the other tasks assigned by site manager and site safety manager.

Qualification Requirements:

Incumbent is expected to have bachelor’s degree on Chemical Engineering or EH&S.State safety inspector certification is mandatory.Incumbent is expected to have 5~10 years field construction safety supervision experience on world class projects. Petrochemical, Chemical or Industry Gas project experience is preferable.Have an adequate standard of health and fitness (e.g., be able to climb in pipe racks, on ladders, to top of high buildings, cold box, and walk extensively in the field daily, and be able to pass a respiratory fit test if needed).Be able to work extended hours if needed, including weekends and some holidays.Be following all company requirements including the drug and alcohol policy etc.
