Overview Gallagher Bassett Technical Services is seeking a qualified construction and safety professionals to become a valued member of our loss control services team. The ideal candidate for this position must be a proactively motivated individual with the ability to manage projects and deliver quality consulting services with minor supervision. This licensed Construction Superintendent position is a contract-based full-time position overseeing construction and safety operations for various projects located in the NYC metro area. The Construction Superintendent shall exclusively be responsible for construction operations related to the Work Site for which they are assigned to and shall not have any other responsibilities associated with the Contract. Salary $45-$50/hr - depending on experience It will be a W-2 position. We are not able to do 1099 or C2C This is a Part-Time and As-Needed/project(s)-based role You would be going to the sites, doing the inspections How you'll make an impact Responsibilities This position will report directly to Director of Field Operations (NY Metro Area). Implement and enforce applicable construction site safety programs in accordance with all federal, state, local, and our customer’s needs. Oversee and manage all site activities that relate to safe work practices and ensure compliance with Chapter 33 of NYC Building Code(s). Follow all regulations and standards to ensure the safety and security of the construction site. Perform daily inspection of all work activities and complete detailed log(s) as required. Coordination of other safety personnel for construction or build-out projects/activities to maintain safe work site. Familiarity with and environmental regulations and guidelines and workplace hazard controls; and ability to provide recommendations to reduce potential workplace hazards. This position requires the ability early morning (A.M.) and late shift (P.M.) work hours, including weekends and holidays. About You Required Qualifications NYC DOB licensed Construction Superintendent with a minimum of five (5) year of construction related experience. Have a valid Supervisor (62hr) SST Card. Past experience and/or familiarity with the commercial high rise and/or institutional building construction development projects. Competent to instruct and provide training/instruction on-site personnel as needed. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Located in the NYC Metro area. Preferred: Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) preferred, but not required. Bi-lingual or multi-lingual communication skills. Behaviors: Ability to negotiate client properties including walking, climbing, lifting, and standing. Ability to work independently to deliver on a timely basis with minimal supervision Strong organizational skills to participate in multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize assignments and prepare daily/comprehensive reports. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret collected data/information, apply appropriate occupational safety and health standards/regulations, and offer recommendations for improvement. Strong understanding of regulatory, professional, and industry standards and practices. Proactive attitude and customer service focus.
