BCL Legal is pleased to be assisting a top-ranked national law firm that is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing Construction team in Birmingham. The position is to provide strategic support and advice to clients on fire and building safety issues enabling you to forge a niche in this growing area. This Senior Associate opportunity is offered on a full or part-time (4 days a week), permanent basis with flexible working options accommodated and hybrid working as standard. The Role
As a Senior Associate in this team, you would:
· Provide strategic support and advice to clients on fire and building safety issues in projects in England and Wales, particularly in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tragedy.
· Work with a multi-disciplinary team serving the UK's top housebuilders, navigating rapidly evolving government policies and legislation.
· Represent clients in formal legal claims, including multi-million-pound disputes in arbitrations and court proceedings.
· Collaborate across jurisdictions (England & Wales, Northern Ireland, and Republic of Ireland) and develop your practice in local markets.
About You
To be successful in your application for this Senior Associate vacancy, you will have:
· A minimum of 5 years' PQE with experience in construction litigation, building safety from an insurance perspective or professional negligence work.
· A keen interest in the wider political issues and policies affecting clients in the construction sector.
· A forward-thinking approach to legal technology and innovation.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and a confident manner in engaging with clients and colleagues.
· A strong team ethic and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment under pressure.
