The Fresh Market currently has an opening for an Construction Sourcing Manager in our Store Support Center. The Construction Sourcing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement and sourcing of construction materials, services, and contractors for new grocery stores, store remodels, and other infrastructure projects. This role will work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and external vendors to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of all construction needs related to store operations. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in strategic sourcing including; supplier relationship management, negotiations, and contract review & management.

This role will report to the Director of Indirect Purchasing.

What You'll Do:
Procurement Strategy Development:Develop and implement sourcing strategies for construction projects.Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams (e.g., project management, design, real estate) to align sourcing needs with business objectives.Supplier and Contractor Management:Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with construction suppliers, contractors, and equipment vendors.Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers and contractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality.Manage the performance of existing suppliers and contractors, ensuring compliance with contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).Identify alternative suppliers to create vendor redundancy and mitigate sourcing riskContract review and redlining to ensure corporate terms and conditions are maintained.Project Sourcing and Execution:Oversee the sourcing of materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects, including new stores, store expansions, and renovations.Ensure the timely delivery of all materials and services to meet Equipment Delivery Schedules and project deadlines.Collaborate with project teams to ensure that the sourced materials meet specifications and quality standards.Budgeting and Cost Control:Work with the finance team to develop project budgets and ensure sourcing activities stay within financial constraints.Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality, service, and project timelines.Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply chain dynamics to adjust sourcing strategies.Market Research and Analysis:Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, emerging suppliers, and new technologies in the construction sector.Provide insights into the latest innovations in construction materials and methods, especially those that could benefit the company.Team Leadership and Collaboration:Lead, mentor, and train junior members of the procurement team.Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including project managers, architects, designers, and engineering departments.Foster strong relationships with external vendors.Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Construction Management, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in construction sourcing or procurement, preferably in the grocery or retail industry.Experience with construction projects, including new builds and remodels.Familiarity with sourcing construction materials, including fixtures, finishes, and specialized grocery store equipment.Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships across all levels of an organization.In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, construction timelines, and industry best practices.

Preferred qualifications:

Professional certifications in procurement or construction management (e.g., CPSM, PMP) are a plus
