Burlington is hiring a Construction Specialist to manage and execute remodels and right size capital projects within the department’s budget. In this role, you will work closely with the Facilities Department, Legal, Real Estate, Store Planning and Stores to ensure that the remodels and right size projects are executed per our leases and construction documents. You will manage internal and external resources as it relates to accomplishing the required work, utilizing existing software programs (Service Channel & Lucernex & Oracle), for dispatching work orders/POs, scheduling, tracking, reporting, updating progress reports and cost tracking. This person will continually work to enhance remodel and right size projects to reduce expense and improve efficiencies, exploring cost saving measures and evaluating new methods and ideas for delivering profit improvement contributions (PIC) while ensuring a positive customer and associate experience.  

 

A Day in the Life:

 

Management of Facilities

Manage and track project schedules/milestones to ensure projects timely completionContinually prioritize requests according to level of urgency to remain within budget parameters Manage bid process for Remodel and right size projects Manage and support Legal, Facilities and Real Estate in developing lease exhibits Manage internal departments in creating and maintaining their project budgetsRate existing vendor performance and propose new vendors Drive and track pre-construction surveys needed to develop the project scopeManage and resolve all vendor invoicing approvals including lien wavier complianceCreate vendor contracts and enforce contract complianceInvestigate and communicate project issues to Real Estate and Legal for support with Landlord and Tenant issues. Manage and report on vendor punch list and close out document completion status  

Financial Management                                                                                

Manage costs to ensure budgets are met Manage change order process and reporting Manage loading and maintaining project budgets in LucernexCreate Oracle Purchase Orders and manage accounting forecastingSuggest cost saving ideas that will impact Facilities remodel and downsize projects

 

You’ll Come With:

High School diploma and 7+ years of similar experience; Bachelors in Business Administration or related field a plus.Must possess in-depth/strong project management skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills, organization, and follow-up skills.Ability to balance and prioritize competing demands.Strong sense of urgency.  Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environmentAbility to multitask is a must  Strong oral and written communication skills, organization, and follow-up skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelLucernex and Oracle financial programs knowledge a plus
