Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent with the ability to work the 2nd shift from 3pm to 12am. This role requires 5-15 years of experience in life science or manufacturing construction, with healthcare experience considered. Proficiency in managing projects using Procore and the ability to manage union subcontractors to a weekly schedule is essential.
ResponsibilitiesAssume primary responsibility for activities associated with specific trades on assigned construction sites.Lead assigned vendors and subcontractors to meet project goals.Ensure achievement of safety objectives on assigned projects.Ensure projects meet applicable quality requirements.Interact with clients at the site and promote positive relationships.Support the Project Director, Project Manager, and Construction Manager in the development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans.Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, including targeted and actual activities lists, durations, and sequencing logic.Develop a working knowledge of the project budget for assigned trades and identify exceptions throughout project execution.Support the development of change control documentation and related financial documentation.Oversee the work of assigned vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality requirements.Participate in constructibility reviews of design documents.Support the procurement and coordination of all required extra-corporate project resources.Conduct pre-bid walk-through and de-scope meetings.Evaluate vendor and subcontractor invoices and requests for payment against actual performance.Manage subcontractor and vendor field T&M change requests.Facilitate communication between subcontractors, vendors, and project personnel.Support the RFI process.Conduct periodic site inspections and evaluations, reporting on the results.Support the production of daily reports of site conditions, including weather, force levels, and safety issues.Review job safety analysis documentation and other safety documentation as required by the corporate safety program.Support periodic coordination meetings with trade subcontractors at the site.Ensure that all submittals are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements.Review submittals as necessary to meet project requirements.Ensure compliance of project activities with legal and regulatory requirements.Oversee startup and commissioning activities of assigned trades if included in the project scope.Essential Skills5-15 years of experience in life science/manufacturing construction as a Superintendent.Proficiency in managing projects using Procore.Ability to manage union subcontractors to a weekly schedule.OSHA 30 certification.Field supervision and construction supervision experience.Ability to read blueprints.Experience in managing daily and weekly project schedules.Ability to produce daily and weekly progress reports.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in pharmaceutical construction is a plus.Guaranteed work for the next 5+ years.Experience working with one of the country's largest design-build firms.Work Environment
This role is based on-site for a $500 million+ new construction of a pilot plant. The work schedule is from 3pm to 12am, and the project requires a tight schedule, necessitating work to be pushed 24/7.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.09 - $81.73/hr.
