Dewberry is currently seeking a Construction Superintendent. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for oversite on commercial and Federal construction projects. The typical projects include renovations and retrofits to buildings, retail facilities, and includes upgrades to the buildings interior and the associated mechanical, electrical and controls systems.  Projects may also include a need for partial demolition, general carpentry, roofing and other general renovations associated with the improvements and renovations. 

 

Candidates that will be considered should have at least 5 years of experience in the field.  The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to oversee multi-trade projects in occupied building environments.

Responsibilities

The position will require the following elements:

Oversee renovations and retrofit to buildings on projects that are up to $15 million in construction, including project planning through implementationSupervise and coordinate onsite personnel and subcontractors to ensure schedule complianceEffectively manage projects to minimize changes, delays and interference with end userAbility to perform minor demolition, general carpentry, framing, hardware installation and small-scale facility upfit activities preferred  Interface with project inspectors, architects, engineer’s clients and local officialsMaintain the standards and compliance with plans, specifications, and codesUpdate and maintain daily logs, project documents for revisions, change orders, ASI’s, etc.Develop Job Hazard Analysis forms, conduct weekly toolbox safety talks and ensure compliance with OSHA guidelinesMaintain a clean and safe jobsiteRespectful and effective written and verbal communication Required Skills & Required Experience Experience working in occupied facilities preferredTop Secret/SCI clearance is preferredExperience completing complex mechanical, electrical, and control projects preferredDevelop and update construction schedules (Microsoft Project or P6 experience preferred)OSHA 10 and First/Aid CPR Certificate preferredExperience with Federal and USACE construction projectsKnowledge and use of Procore is preferredProficient knowledge and experience with Microsoft software including excel, project and word; as well as P6 scheduling tool preferred.

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, ability to pass a driving record background check, and ability to receive a security clearance.
