Construction Superintendent

Clover Leaf Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager 2 to support the Construction Management (CM) Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). This role is responsible for leading construction projects valued at $500K+, providing oversight to Superintendent 2s, and ensuring projects align with LANL’s mission objectives. The selected candidate will play a critical role in managing project scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards. Provide direct supervision and mentorship to Superintendent 2s and other project personnel. Initiate and oversee investigations of abnormal events, incidents, or accidents, assisting in root cause analysis and corrective actions. Serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) responsible for planning, budgeting, and managing project costs and schedule performance. Conduct variance analysis, determine causes and effects of schedule or cost variances, and implement corrective action plans. Present project status, performance plans, trends, and issues to federal sponsors and senior management. Proactively manage project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions. Lead constructability reviews during the design process to assess impacts on construction cost and schedule. Ensure compliance with facility maintenance, construction management, work control, and facility control systems. Collaborate with labor unions and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements for all trades. Maintain strong engagement with customers, program management, and stakeholders to develop and execute action plans. Oversee safety and environmental compliance, ensuring adherence to LANL policies and procedures. Utilize computerized work management systems to track job activities, coordinate material and equipment delivery, and manage workflows. Required Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in construction, engineering, procurement, or project management. 5+ years of experience in engineering, procurement, or construction leadership roles. Advanced knowledge of construction project management, including Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS). Extensive experience with facility maintenance, construction management, and system engineering design. Strong understanding of DOE nuclear safety requirements, work hazards, and lock-out/tag-out procedures. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, allocate resources, and oversee project progress. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present project updates and reports to senior leadership. Active DOE Q Clearance (Required). Nuclear experience (Required). Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day and graveyard shifts as required.
