We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source a Construction Superintendent E&I. This is a long-term contract role. Please see details below.
Title: Construction Superintendent E&I
Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice)
Location: Qatar Onshore
Working Schedule: 6 days per week / 8-10 hours per day
--Experience Required—
Key Job Accountabilities
• Provides safety leadership by example to the MP Onshore Project Team and the package Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor Team, its sub-contractors and site vendors
o As delegated by the Construction Head Electrical & Instrumentation, the incumbent is responsible for the implementation of the MP Onshore Project Site Safety program which includes the SHES Activity Schedule.
o Responsible for ensuring the package Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor Team implements and sustains its obligations and responsibilities for SHES project deliverables
• MP Onshore Project Package Team Construction representative for monitoring and coordinating site activities of the Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor Team and its subcontractor(s) in their area of responsibility.
• Reports on the construction activities, progress, areas of concern and mitigating actions. Leads appropriate weekly construction discipline review meetings.
• Prepares for and participates in weekly construction review meetings.
• Responsible for implementation of execution activities and ensures development, review and approval (as required) of appropriate plans, procedures, and programs for safe and effective execution. This includes review and authorization of RLIC CPW permits, client ePTWs.
• Provides accurate, timely and routine reports to the Head Electrical & Instrumentation Construction on project planning and execution activities.
• Reviews and approves the Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor Team construction sequence plans, work plans, pre-task planning and method statements to ensure comprehensive safety and feasibility in their area of responsibility.
• Leads incident investigations with support from the SHES organization.
• Ensures Electrical & Instrumentation Contractor Team construction activities are completed in accordance with MP Onshore Project procedures, regulations, specifications, standards, and permit to work procedures as applicable, including relevant RLIC procedures. Daily sanctioning of permits and monitoring of work areas.
• Coordinate and correspond with other parties and asset owners in RLIC corridors and crossing areas where required.
• Participates in the review of subcontracts and ensures that adequate control and changes in work procedures are established.
• Reviews and approves construction field changes and extra work requests as delegated by the Head Electrical & Instrumentation Construction.
• Supervises and manages MP Onshore Project Team direct report project personnel.
• Assists MP Onshore Project Construction Head Electrical & Instrumentation in executing his responsibilities and acts in his behalf during his absence.
• Demonstrates ability to plan and schedule work (short term and long term) and ensures execution of work plan by subordinates (as applicable).
• Monitors and ensures the correction of non-conformance report items and other issues supporting QA/QC compliance.
• Timely resolution of field Construction issues for package Contractor, associated with the Electrical & Instrumentation scope of work
• Timely resolution of field Construction issues associated with the Electrical & Instrumentation scope of work for package Contractor.
• Participate for DCC system completion process including system turnovers.
• Monitors site material handling, prefabrication and warehousing procedures with respect to their area to facilitate construction progress.
--Minimum Requirements--
Qualifications
• Associates degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent
• Recognized degree in engineering or construction management, and/or prior work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above.
Knowledge and Key Skills
• Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Electrical & Instrumentation project execution
• Experience in major Construction Projects (including brown-field work) with total capital expenditure >USD$1B
• Recent experience (last 5 years) on client Projects and working in Ras Laffan Industrial City is preferred.
• Substation/ITRs buildings,LNG tanks and field E&I activities, experience in HV 132kV, 33kV, 11kV, LV switchgears, Motors, Compressors, Transformers, UPS systems, earthing and lightining, CP systems works.
• Knowledge of pre requisite conditions / requirements for Pre-commissioning & Commissioning of E&I systems will be an added advantage.
