Position Summary

 

Provide office and field support for each job as it progresses.  Set up budget and schedule for each job and track each process to ensure goals are being met.  Works with project manager to identify resources to work more efficiently.  Supervises carpenters to ensure all hospital and departmental policies are being adhered to. Coordinates the Facilities/Construction Safety and MEP training program. Serves in the dual roles of training facilitator for Facilities /Construction staff and as the Construction Safety specialist. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Required knowledge includes NFPA 99, OSHA regulations, lockout tag/out, confined space, building/construction safety, etc. Technical and troubleshooting MEP components are a must. Works with Director/Managers and Coordinators to identify training needs and maps out development plans for teams and individuals. Position requires the ability to manage, design, develop, coordinate and conduct training programs.

 

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Education         

Associate’s degree or trade license

 

Experience        

Four (4) years’ experience mechanical, electrical and plumbing

 

License/Registration/Certifications        

Must maintain a current Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC or Contractors License, or Associate’s Degree

 

Preferred Requirements

 

Preferred Education     

Vocational or Technical School

Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds. Manual dexterity, good hand to eye coordination and adequate vision needed in daily work. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situation. Must be able to work as a team member with peers, other department managers, staff and administration. Must understand dangers involved with asbestos work.
