Construction Surveillance Technician (TS/SCI w/ Poly Required)

Under general supervision, this position monitors un-cleared personnel who come to work on facilities and building equipment, structures, systems and hardware. This role also performs technical and general maintenance work on a variety of facilities and building equipment, systems, structures, and hardware, including air handlers, domestic water, chilled water, hot water, steam, humidification, building exhaust, compressed air, controls, lighting, electrical, security systems, fire systems, etc.

Principal Job Duties:

• Monitor and escort uncleared persons at the facility whether the work is inside or outside the building.
• If/when multiple maintenance activities requiring multiple monitors in the building this position will serve as Building Monitor Lead.
• Provide verbal and written reports regarding pertinent safety, security, facility, or personnel issues/incidents.
• Maintain visual contact and proper line of sight with uncleared personnel at all times.
• Respond professionally and courteously to all personnel.
• Remain alert and attentive at all times to provide appropriate security monitoring of escorted individuals.
• Work around active construction areas and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Work in industrial locations (mechanical and electrical rooms, etc)
• Properly sanitize areas prior to escorting uncleared personnel into designated work areas
• Walk long distances, climb stairs (including stepladders, etc.), sit/stand for long periods of time.
• Wear appropriate work attire which may include a company provided dress uniform.
• During times of not escorting uncleared personnel (i.e. vendors departing early, scheduled for more than one day and only take one day to perform tasks, etc.), candidate will assist the Facilities O&M team.
• Facilities O&M support will include general maintenance/technician tasks; this includes, but not limited to, assisting senior technicians with complex tasks, major repairs/modifications, performing minor repairs (possibly unassisted), minor alterations, and routine service work. Examples of tasks could be relamping light fixtures, gathering materials, work order completion paperwork, job-site cleanup, and similar tasks an entry-level technician might perform.
