Job Description:
Overview:
The Construction Survey Manager is responsible for overseeing survey layout, data management, and as-built documentation for construction projects. This role ensures accurate field execution, collaborates with construction and engineering teams, and maintains safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Oversee construction survey operations, including layout, civil design work, and survey data management.
Provide field-level guidance by translating engineered designs and survey data into as-built developments.
Utilize CAD software to create as-built construction designs and drawings.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout all construction phases.
Collaborate with Field Supervisory Personnel (Construction Superintendent and Foreman) and Engineering Staff to support construction activities.
Interpret engineered construction drawings and perform field layouts and markups as needed.
Generate technical field reports related to construction, including measurements, quantities, and cut sheets.
Perform additional survey-related tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum of 10 years of direct surveying experience in civil, structural, heavy industrial, or construction environments.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with MicroStation is a plus.
Strong ability to analyze survey data and provide direction to field crews.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact across all levels of the organization.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Dependable, reliable, and adaptable to shifting project priorities.
Ability to recognize and escalate complex issues as needed.
