Construction Team Lead
Summary The Construction Team Lead is a position supporting the Native Village of Chenega, located in Prince William Sound. This position works inside one of Alaska's iconic natural landscapes, providing the experience, knowledge, and technical skills to carry out a variety of construction projects in Prince William Sound. This position is primarily field based, where experience and skill in Alaska construction are highly valued in our mission to provide infrastructure for Chenega. Responsibilities Assist the Project Manager in completing challenging and rewarding construction projects, including fieldwork and onsite administrative duties. Direct junior employees, subcontractors, and vendors in the onsite execution of projects. Collaborate with other leads and the Project Manager on projects, including assigning work orders and assisting in developing project plans, budgets, and timelines. Identify and mitigate job site safety issues and execute site safety plans for construction projects to maintain a safe work environment for employees, subcontractors, and vendors. Responsible for material planning, procurement, and mobilization. Administrative duties include but are not limited to daily job reports, planning, budgeting, and other project documentation as required. This position is remote and rotational. The schedule is to be determined, but it will be a multi-week rotation. This position will have direct supervisory responsibilities and provide supervision to contract employees assigned to work on projects that fall directly under the responsibility of this position. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma/GED At least five years’ experience in the construction industry, with in-depth knowledge of all typical vertical construction phases and a journeyman level in at least one. Experience in rural operations and construction (preferred). Valid Alaska Driver’s License Maintains a favorable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Competent in the use of technology and understanding of a variety of systems. Ability to read and follow construction prints/plans. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Council members, the Tribal Administrator and Council staff, village residents, Chenega Corporation staff, vendors, outside agencies, and the public. Ability to organize time efficiently, work with minimal supervision, be self-directed, work independently, and make independent decisions. Ability to perform multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while delivering excellent service to internal and external customers. Ability to improvise and adapt to the challenges presented in a remote environment.
