What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Director, Business Analytics, you will support planning and execution of transformational projects in the Commercial Bank and the strategic development and maintenance of Commercial Banking Business Technology applications. The suite of applications are used by the Line of Business for several purposes including managing clients, pipeline, pricing, monitoring of credit compliance, among others. The applications collect and store information for business analysis and decision-making. You will provide support across project or initiative lifecycle such as business case drafting, leading stakeholder sessions, providing strategic recommendation, and programs and projects and other related activities.

How You’ll Succeed
Process improvement for the Commercial Banking Applications:Document workflows including detailed activities, controls, and relevant documentation. Provide recommendations for improvement, including process re-engineering and aligning activities with best-fit areas.Lead initiatives to improve supporting processes:Scope initiatives to implement priorities for Commercial Banking applications.Define and document Business requirements from stakeholders.Conduct impact assessments of proposed changes on Commercial Banking applications or workflows.Identify workstreams and develop project plans.Collaboration with vendors and CIBC Technology to implement application changes:Identify and implement necessary configuration changes in collaboration with vendors.Support application development and testing by assisting Technology teams with interpreting business requirements and resolving discrepancies.Plan and execute Business Acceptance Testing, including the creation of testing plans, scenarios, and acceptance criteria.Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure effective team collaboration and delivery.Review testing results and make go/no-go recommendations for production changes.Keep application materials up-to-date including Job Aids and supporting process documentation.Support Project Management activities for Commercial Banking Application initiatives, as assignedMake recommendations on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of Commercial Banking.Perform data analyses to support recommendations or investigate application issues.Support the production of Commercial Banking’s Client reporting by completing the month-end and year-end processes required. Maintain comprehensive process documentation including month end, year-end, and financial reconciliation to ensure that appropriate internal data integrity controls are in place.Organize and lead user training sessions for applications as applicable, including developing training materials.Maintain and review application user access controls and processes.Who You Are
You have experience (5-10 years) in the Financial Industry with a background in Commercial Banking.You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.You have strong interpersonal and teaming skills to interact with groups and individuals at various levels.You have strong relationship management skills. You have the ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with clients, vendors and peers.You have proficiency with Commercial Banking’s applications and reporting systems (e.g., Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, or Excel).You have working knowledge of Commercial Banking’s priorities and initiatives to meet business objectives, and products and services, structure and operationsYou have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, such as PowerPoint, Excel and WordYou put our client first. You have a strong client (both internal and external) focused mind-set.You have strong skills in requirements analysis. You have knowledge of activities, tasks, practices and deliverables associated with eliciting and clearly defining and documenting required business functionality and information.You have a strong understanding of process design and improvement. You have a strong understanding of process design methodologies to develop efficient processes and identify opportunities to streamline existing flows.You are a problem solver. You have knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.You have good project management skills, including project plan development, budgeting and scheduling, preference for candidates with PMP. You have a high level of proficiency with CIBC’s project management methodology.You are self-motivated, with the ability to operate independently.You have strong communication and presentation skills to prepare material and deliver user training.Values matter to you.
