​What You'll Be Doing 

The Consultant, Data Risk and Reporting will build strong relationships with individuals within the Chief Data Office and across Strategic Business Units and Functional Groups, to enable expansion and evolution of enterprise data risk reporting and insights. This role is responsible for development and reporting of enterprise data risk metrics, progress reporting on enterprise implementation of Data Governance and Data Management capabilities in alignment with Data strategy and Target Operating Model, enterprise data policy adherence reporting, and associated management reporting and insights, including partnership with Enterprise Technology for development of automated reporting solution. 

As the Consultant, Data Risk and Reporting you’ll develop standard data risk metrics reporting in alignment with current state capabilities, through collaboration with multiple stakeholders. You will also evolve metrics to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), at an enterprise aggregate and Business Unit level, along with maturing enterprise data capabilities as well as partner with Enterprise Technology to develop requirements and solution for automated enterprise data risk dashboard reporting. The successful candidate will generate insights based on the KPIs and KRIs and report on those insights to Senior Leadership.

How You’ll Succeed 

Analytical - Understand and interpret complex information, identify patterns and trends in new or strategic areas, and develop recommendations. Develop and implement strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate data-related risks across the enterprise. 

Communication – You demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Present risk analysis findings and translate complex data into actionable insights for decision-making. Provide consultative advice and guidance to senior leadership 

Business Acumen - You will be required to act independently to ensure ongoing compliance of various activities within Data & Analytics as required. You are a good communicator, with the ability to analyze findings and make recommendations to directors and senior directors across our business 

Collaborative Partner – Work closely with Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to integrate data & records management considerations into the broader risk management framework. 

Relationship Management - Build strong relationships with the Data Community across CIBC, Line of Business Data roles holders and their teams, ensuring clear guidance and two-way effective communication path to enable clear understanding and resolution of challenges and implementation of opportunities. 

Data Specialist - You know how to extract insights from metrics and convert it into a business readable format to help senior leaders to make informed decisions. 

Partnership and Collaboration – Participate as a thought partner and incorporate feedback and insights gained through collaboration which will assist in the development and evolution of our key Data Governance metrics, key controls, and oversight opportunities, and help our business make better decisions faster. 

Who You Are 

You can demonstrate experience in Business Analysis methodology and principles. 3-5 years of experience in the following tools: Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Automate and Tableau, SQL to extract insights, make sense of information and communicate detailed information in an impactful way
