ERM is seeking a motivated Consultant to support our Health & Safety (H&S) practice in San Diego, CA, aligned with the Irvine, CA, office. The successful candidate will assist Project Managers on a variety of Safety Risk Assessments, Safety Program Developments, and Compliance Audits. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical assistance on EHS programs and policies in support of ERM clients’ domestic and international projects (i.e., oil and gas, power generation, electrical transmission, renewable/alternative energy, and manufacturing).
Conduct tasks related to industrial hygiene sampling events, compliance monitoring, safety risk assessment, and technical studies at both remotely and/or onsite.
Deliver health and safety training to client, ensuring they understand safety protocols and best practices.
Assist in the development of safety training materials and programs.
Perform project delivery activities such as report writing, undertaking and organizing data collection, site visits, performing data and literature review, and developing recommendations for clients.
Provide technical support to Project Managers to support our clients on safety risk assessment tasks.
Conduct safety inspections and monitor adherence to safety procedures across various client job sites.
Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
Communicate with regulatory agents, project developers and clients during field activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
BS in environmental science, environmental planning, engineering, biology, or related discipline.
2+ years of consulting experience, including projects in manufacturing, high tech and/or life science sectors.
High degree of technical competence and knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and policies.
Thorough knowledge of Cal/OSHA regulations, including safety and health standards, compliance requirements.
Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports.
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated attributes to become a strong consultant – team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter who takes initiative, versatile, and service-oriented mentality.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
MS in environmental science, occupational health, engineering, biology, or related engineering and science discipline.
For the Consultant, Health & Safety position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $76,000 – $86,749. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
