Consultant, Visa Rules Operations (Publications)

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Visa Rules, Compliance and Standards (RCS) team establishes operating principles and enforces common interoperable rules and standards for our products and services by which clients must operate their Visa programs within the ecosystem. 

This is an individual contributor role for a dedicated and motivated Technical Specialist with experience in authoring writing tools and a strong desire to learn and grow within our organization. This role will be supporting the publication of Visa Rule books, encompassing all approved rule proposals in various languages to meet regional requirements around the globe.  The responsibilities require management of multiple moderate to complex topics and / or projects in partnership with regional rule authors and RCS Leadership at any one time prioritizing as appropriate to support the Visa rules book publications with accuracy and consistency. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams and preparing high-quality deliverables for leadership.

Core responsibilities include:

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, manuals, and release notes.Utilize authoring tools to create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for non-technical users.Support Translation Process in multiple languages and assist in html code reviewsCollaborate within Visa Rules Management Team and IT when applicable to gather information and ensure the accuracy of documentation.Prepare and present documentation deliverables to leadership, ensuring clarity and completeness with qualified data.Continuously improve documentation processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Stay current with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and documentation.Observe and provide trends and insights across processes for stakeholders and executive leadership in various roles across VisaEnsure all tasks are documented and managed within the global function, along with appropriately identifying and managing the risk and control environment in such processes.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

 

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
• Fluent English speaker and writer, with multi-lingual capability a plus
• Experience in publication and/or procedure writing and governance or similar area
• Excellent written, verbal, and authoring skills to convey complex topics in an easily understandable way
• Fully computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook
• Ability to apply a risk mindset and sound business analysis to provide consistent and appropriate responses
• Ability to effectively work under pressure, self-challenging and adhering to tight deadlines ensuring RCS maintains established service level objectives
• Ability to set priorities, manage expectations, demonstrate project management skills and work both as part of a team and independently with attention to detail
• Respond resourcefully to new priorities and challenges and be action orientated and prepared to act responsibly with limited information
• Apply sound business analysis to limit the downstream impact of decisions
Preferred Qualifications

• 6 or more years of work experience with a bachelor's degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• Experience with publication software, particularly MadCap Flare and / or Lingo
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven abilities in negotiating with and influencing clients and staff at all levels, including strong written and verbal communications skills
• Strong analytical aptitude and demonstrated track record of working with data to develop business-oriented solutions as well as the ability to apply sound business analysis to limit the downstream impact of decisions
• Visa experience or in-depth knowledge of the payment solutions industry is highly desired – especially Card Payments, ACH or Push Payments and the relevant network rules.
• Extensive experience with Visa, a Regulatory Body, a Card Membership Organization or other Financial Industry body. Knowledge of the Visa Rules highly desired
