To support the continued growth of our climate planning line of business, we are seeking a **mid-career professional** with strong experience in assessing and implementing sustainable climate finance strategies and solutions in developing country contexts. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team conducting detailed analyses to develop strategic advice related to climate finance, climate policies, and climate-smart solutions for clients such as the USAID, MCC, international financial institutions, and other clients. Your work will mostly focus on solutions for developing countries, but may also include support to U.S.-based clients and global institutions and businesses.
The successful candidate will have a hybrid work environment, working in the **Arlington, VA** office on **Wednesdays and Thursdays** during our practice group’s in-office days, with the flexibility to work elsewhere the remainder of the week. Similar working arrangements in our **New York, NY** and **Los Angeles, CA** offices are possible.

**Responsibilities:**
You will join a diverse, dynamic, and interdisciplinary team composed of climate scientists, engineers, environmental economists, policy experts, communication specialists, and others to:
Support the delivery of projects for public and private clients
+ Advise on a wide array of climate financing approaches including loans, bonds, public-private partnerships, and others.
+ Assess climate finance challenges, opportunities, solutions, providers, and other aspects to help clients prioritize and select the most effective climate finance options to achieve their goals
+ Work closely with clients, investors, global and country-based project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that transactions are structured to meet their needs and achieve their objectives.
+ Identify and manage risks associated with transactions in international development projects
+ Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies, including those related to financial management, procurement, and environmental and social safeguards
+ Support the development of robust and sound qualitative and quantitative analyses to translate complex data into valuable and appropriate recommendations
+ Engage with clients and stakeholders through various channels (meetings, interviews, workshops) to collect data, insights, and perspectives
+ Convene and facilitate meetings, trainings, and info sessions to convey key findings and best practices
+ Supporting monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of climate finance policies/programs to assess effectiveness, best practices, and lessons learned
+ Approximately 50% of your work will focus on climate finance, 25% on climate policy and solutioning, and the remainder on internal initiatives and business development.
**Required qualifications & skills:**
+ 5+ years of experience in the design and implementation of climate/green finance policies and instruments
+ 2+ years of experience in international finance transactions, such as advising on financing arrangements, structuring deals, conducting due diligence, and/or supporting public-private partnerships
+ Bachelor’s degree in finance, environmental economics, climate policy, or related discipline
**Preferred qualifications & skills:**
+ Master’s degree in finance, environmental economics, climate policy, or related discipline
+ 8+ years of experience in the design and implementation of climate finance
+ Previous work in developing countries and international development
+ Excellent financial modeling, equity valuation, project finance, and other core investment skills
+ Previous experience working with USAID or MCC
+ Fluency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese
+ Strong understanding of climate risk, climate resilience, and GHG emission mitigation topics
+ Certifications such as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
+ Excellent quantitative analysis abilities, including advanced knowledge of Excel and equivalent tools
+ Ability to work independently as well as within multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary consulting teams spread across several countries and time zones
