Consultant – Network Engineer

Inviting applications for the role of Consultant – Network Engineer
Responsibilities
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining computer networks, including hardware and software components
• Configuring and maintaining network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls
• Troubleshooting network problems and ensuring optimal network performance
• Developing and implementing security policies and procedures
• Staying up to date with the latest networking technologies and trends
• In the first 90 days – Work closely with the technical leads and associates to help support BAU and KTLO (Keeping the Lights On) operations, support and implement Projects as well as work on Security related initiatives.
• Beyond 90 days – Effectively perform the function and work independently and lead the team, as well as be involved in the design, engineering, and architecture of the infrastructure. Help work on Service Improvements and Innovation, including introduction of his/her own initiatives.
Qualifications we seek in you
Required Technical Skills/Minimum Qualification
• Provides 1st level to 2nd Level Network support, troubleshooting, and engineering.
• Ticket monitoring, handling, coordination, and seeing the incident towards closure, including escalation of unresolved issues to higher level support.
• Service Request monitoring, handling, coordination, and ensuring the request is served, including escalation of unresolved issues to higher level support.
• Proactive Monitoring, Alerting, support and troubleshooting of Network and Security related Infrastructure.
• Implementation of Change Request and activities
• Knowledge of core routing and switching design principles, best practices, and related technologies.
• Knowledgeable on Cisco Switch and Router.
• Must be knowledgeable with Cisco ASA, Palo Alto and FTD (NGFW) Firewalls.
• Knowledgeable with Web Application firewalls.
• Knowledgeable with Wireless Technology (Aruba and Meraki)
• Familiar with Vulnerability scanners and reporting.
• Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including routers, switches (layer 2/3), firewalls, remote access VPN, Site to Site VPN, DNS, BGP, VLAN, QoS, DSL, SDWAN and Metro Ethernet.
• Knowledge of Network Infrastructure Infrastructure Security, etc.
• Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and deploying network switches/routers and firewalls. Including experience in best practices, traffic shaping and bandwidth throttling.
• Experience in PABX and telephony
• Experience working with telecommunications companies or Systems Integrator is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills; able to communicate effectively with associates at all levels.
• Excellent documentation writing skill to be effectively presenting to different level of audience.
• Ability to effectively summarize and clearly communicate infrastructure hardware/software problems involving multiple support team(s).
• Must be able to prioritize and manage time effectively as well as function with no supervision, under tight deadlines, and demonstrate initiative in problem solving
• Demonstrate ability to execute and perform timely follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction
• ITIL Experience; Service Level Management, Incident Handling and Resolution, Change Management, Service Transition

Preferred Skills/Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
• Relevant experience of design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of large, complex IP-based networks.
• Relevant experience with layer-2 and layer-3 network protocols and technologies, TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS,
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required, (Cisco Certified Network professional (CCNP) is an advantage).
