Role Proficiency:

Under the guidance of Consultant II work closely with the client business and account leadership teams to align transformation programs with underlying technical solutions to business needs.  

Outcomes:

Works with stakeholders at every level of the organization soliciting strategic imperatives from senior leaders and executives; supporting business unit managers as they leverage business architecture and product development artifacts to create and implement client business plans. Provide direct input into the governance cycle that supports the achievement of key goals planning and execution of various scenarios and delivery of bottom line value for the business Help client business and leadership team with problem definition Collaborate and contribute to business and technology consulting projects to deliver client objectives Perform assessments of client business processes organizational change IT processes and technology landscape; identifying transformational recommendations Develop a business and technical architecture strategy based on situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations. Apply a structured business architecture approach and methodology for capturing the key views of the enterprise. Capture the tactical and strategic enterprise goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance. UST is looking for a digital underwriting consultant who can handle following responsibilities: Manage, maintain, and update rulesets for a digital underwriting service: “UnderwritingPal (UWPal)", ensuring rulesets are aligned with underwriting guidelines, and regulatory standards. 2. Optimize rule configurations and improve straight-through processing (STP) rates. 3. Serve as a resource for Aura Next implementations in the US and support for research and development of new digital underwriting capabilities. 4. Participate in research & development initiatives to expand or advance technology for digital underwriting capabilities. 5. Work closely with digital underwriting project & product (teams), providing underwriting direction and working to ensure that the underwriting approach works as designed and is in line with underwriting philosophy. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education and Experience Required: 2 • Experience developing and implementing rules for an underwriting engine, including straight through processing optimization ▪ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience ▪ 5 to 7 years of experience in life & health insurance/reinsurance in the US market ▪ Experience providing consultative services and software implementation for digital underwriting solutions Preferred: • Experience using evidences including MIB, LabPiq, Medical Claims Data, RX Checks, Electronic Health Records for making underwriting decisions • ACS, ALU, FLMI, FALU or CLU accreditation or progress towards accreditation • 7+ years of experience direct underwriting experience with mortality and morbidity products Required Skills and Abilities: • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Excel use, creating and formatting spreadsheets, simple data entry, and sorting or filtering data • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Powerpoint use, creating and editing presentations • Strong oral and written communication skills including presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to convey information in a way that is meaningful and well received by stakeholders and team members • Ability to adapt to new methods and work under tight deadlines • Expert skills in managing multiple projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines • Strong knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting related regulations, underwriting policies and procedures and guidelines for dealing with risk analysis. • Ability to work online, either at home or remote • Occasional travel required, 10% or less
