About the role
A career within Deals Transaction Services, will provide you the opportunity to help organisations realise the potential of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and capital markets. In short, we help some of the world’s leading companies originate, create, execute, and realise value from deals. Through data driven insights we help our clients move in the right direction ensuring maximum value for their company.
Our team assists organisations with both buy side and sell side due diligence. We work across all sectors, with a variety of clients (local and international corporates and private equities) to help buyers and sellers identify and assess risks and realise the value of businesses to be acquired or divested.
As a member of our team, you will work alongside diverse professionals helping to provide both corporate and financial buyers with peace of mind by analysing and validating all the financial, commercial, operational and strategic assumptions being made.
You will be responsible for areas such as:
Understanding key drivers of a target companies (financial and non-financial information) and analysing their impact.
Analysing the financial operations of a target companies and identifying issues that may impact the purchase price.
Understanding and evaluating financial and operational trends of a target companies.
Assisting with writing complex areas of due diligence reports.
Assimilating information quickly.
Problem solving.
Collaborating with other teams (tax, legal and forensic) working as part of a larger project environment.
Taking part in client meetings, proposal / pitching stage.
You will also need to be comfortable with:
Consulting with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
Delivering to tight deadlines.
Education, experience and skills requirements:
University Degree in Economics/ Finance/ Accounting or similar.
Sound knowledge in the areas of financial reporting (IFRS / US GAAP), budgeting, management accounting / reporting.
1+ year of relevant work experience, for example advisory, consultancy or due diligence work will be a huge advantage.
Strong analytical skills using financial modelling, research, and accounting analysis.
Good business writing and Excel skills.
Commercial awareness.
Upper-intermediate or Advanced level of English language.
Interpersonal skills (work well within teams, presentation, confident interacting with clients and management).
Ability to adapt and be flexible to a changing work environment and evolving demands.
ACCA / CIMA / CFA papers taking / passed is an advantage.
