Consultant Strategy Planning & Optimization

Summary:

Strategy Planning & Optimization department supports the organization�s dedication to continuous operational improvement ensuring implementation of its strategies and operational needs. This department is committed to driving large scale change in the organization with an emphasis on user adoption and building the behaviors and competencies needed to advance a culture of continuous improvement with sound project management principles.

The Consultant is responsible for the success of projects in revenue cycle across the system related to operational and financial performance improvement. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to drive project goals and objectives; ensures clarity of project scope and organizational accountability. Co-develops deadlines and targets with team leadership tracks progress to deadlines assigns responsibilities identifies co-dependencies and obstacles understands and reports on financial indicators and project metrics and monitors and summarizes progress of project.

 

Responsibilities:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

� Acts as a leader in all facets of project and portfolio management.

� Assists in process & business optimization opportunity identification solution recommendation and refinement of implementation plans with the primary goals of driving integration and enhancing system and entity performance.

� Participates in assessment and prioritization of projects work plan development and structured implementation planning to achieve all identified integration and performance enhancement opportunities.

� Collaboratively develops project plans including defining deliverables key milestones critical paths and outcome success measures.

� Leads the team through the execution of the project and monitors progress against the plan initiating corrective action as necessary.

� Identifies and models resources for projects including defining and assigning project roles.

� Balances schedule scope and budget in coordination with key stakeholders.

� Identifies project barriers/constraints/risks and ensures the team is mitigating them; ensures that issues and risks are known to leadership throughout the project.

� Understands and executes stakeholder analysis to identify upstream and downstream impact of projects.

� Designs articulates and executes effective communication plans.

� Facilitates improvement efforts and develops implementation recommendations.

� Facilitates collaboration within diverse groups to provide input to strategic planning and execution

� Responsible for outreach efforts to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders.

� Develops maintains and manages relationships at all levels across the organization.

� Ensures alignment with project objectives and identifies opportunities to increase process efficiencies cost-effectiveness quality and service.

� Employs disciplined documentation for project process and progress to establish consistent project organization and reporting.

� Partners with project team to collect and analyze data to determine baseline and progress metrics.

� Collaborates with finance and other support departments to ensure the accuracy of targets and validation of metrics both leading and trailing indicators.

� Consults with leadership regarding analysis observations; provides recommendations regarding project/process improvements.

� Manages stress appropriately prioritizes work schedule and collaborates with others.

� Performs other duties as assigned.


 

Other information:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor�s degree required.

Training in process improvement and Scrum or Agile methodologies preferred.

Project management certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Critical thinker; decisive when necessary.
3 - 5 years of experience in project management with experience coordinating cross-functional business units and/or multidisciplinary project teams.
Experience in healthcare delivery environment desirable.
Have demonstrated skills with project management; tools concepts and methodologies; Lean/ Six Sigma experience or certification a plus.
Possess a functional understanding of financial analytics and data.
Display understanding of workflow process excellence and change management.
Possess strong leadership skills: effective interpersonal skills to influence and guide solutions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Provides functional guidance to others who may be assigned on a project basis.
