Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Consulting, Specialist Master in Austin, Texas and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do
Manage teams that work across all phases of the Agile and Waterfall lifecycle in information technology projects for the design, development, testing and implementation of Extract Transform Load (ETL), Analytical and Business reports, and Data Warehouse solutions for enterprise-level clients. Manage multiple Database Administration information technology project teams in deployments of coding, cloning, refreshing, patching, backups, restore etc. of multiple middleware components. Coordinate with technical and functional teams and able to understand the criticality of activities and schedule the same accordingly. Manage analysis, design, programming and testing for presentation, reporting and data ETL layers of enterprise data warehouse. Manage weekly cold backups of database and perform database recovery activities for information technology projects. Perform role of counselor and coach; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for teams and staff in local offices. Provide expertise in such activities as maintaining instances, maintenance of file system and taking appropriate backups for security and consistency. Improve internal processes, and promote knowledge sharing in the team, by contributing to the community of practice, blogs, and other forms of market eminence.
• 50% Travel required nationally

• Work location includes various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Requirements
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, any STEM field, or a related field. Must have 3 years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) and 5 years of progressive related work experience.
Position requires 3 years of related work experience in each of the following:
• Providing expertise in activities, including maintaining instances and file systems, and making appropriate backups for security and consistency, utilizing disaster recovery strategies and application load balancing concepts;
• Utilizing SQL Tuning Advisor, Automatic Workload Repository (AWR), Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM), Active Session History (ASH) reports, Explain Plan, and SQL Hints to conduct performance tuning of batch queries;
• Preparing the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) design, load strategy, and data engineering for source systems, using Logstash, Elastic Search, Message Queue (MQ), Apache NiFi, Kafka, and Python;
• Driving technical aspects of project delivery, including program and database testing, and making modifications to resolve errors, utilizing erwin Data Modeler, draw.io, Splunk, Dynatrace, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Python, and custom scripts;
• Performing research and analysis, and consulting with end-users and functional teams for developing technical specifications for database construction and maintenance; and
• Delivering management reporting solutions to clients, using Splunk, Dynatrace, Python, Plotly, Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK) stack, and Qlik Sense.

Other
Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week.
