About the role The Applications Engineer (Load Center) is an essential technical resource for the field sales force and is responsible for ensuring proper application of our Load Center products in projects and assisting the field sales force. This includes assigning product SKUs based on project application, design, and quotation stage of the sales process from simple to complex residential electrical power distribution projects. The Applications Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners throughout the sales cycle. Responsibilities Work in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for Leviton’s broad portfolio of residential electrical products Use intimate knowledge of electrical system design and code requirements to assist the sales force in providing product offerings Interpret customer specifications to identify appropriate products and assemble design packages, bills of materials, project submittals, and panel schedules. Establish contacts with electrical utilities to gain approval of Leviton’s metered product portfolio Review electrical utility requirements to identify targets for approval process Provide design and specification development support to consultants, contractors, and distributors Respond to functional and technical elements of RFQs/RFPs Identify and visit engineering firms in conjunction with our sales force with the objective of getting products specified Perform technical product training and maintain accurate records of target accounts and opportunities Attend job site and other customer meetings to represent Leviton when necessary Communicate with factory, product engineers and others on schedule, quality issues and customer complaints Provide assistance with resolution of customer issues Maintain professional business relationships within target accounts Proactively provide MDU projects to Sales from construction data base and collaborative relationships with other Leviton Groups that also work with MDU projects Communicate to marketing team what support documentation is requested in field including application notes Attend NEMA, EUSERC, MEG and Apartment Industry meetings/events Qualifications Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation Clear Understanding on the importance of Culture and Teamwork Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with customers that lead to the sale of assigned products Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information exists Must have the ability to work in a highly confidential work environment, and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Strong mathematically, analytical and computer skills Education & Experience Bachelor of Science in Engineering or other technical field required Five years working experience in an electrical power distribution system design environment Excellent knowledge of electrical Codes & Standards Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, engineered plans, and electrical specifications Experience with BIM drawings Travel Up to 25% travel Ability to work Professionally and efficiently while remote What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: https://careers.leviton.com/benefits Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
