This position is for a Consulting Employee (CE) to join our team in Chantilly, VA as a Scrum Master. The team consists of highly motivated and skilled professionals working in an Agile environment. The Scrum Master will be responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering a collaborative team environment to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of working with Agile teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
The program includes teams operating across multiple time zones, requiring the candidate to have excellent communication skills and flexibility in working with cross-functional teams. A demonstrated ability to drive Agile best practices and coach teams to success is highly desired.
Primary Responsibilities:
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
Coach and mentor team members on Agile principles and best practices
Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure backlog refinement and prioritization
Identify and remove impediments to team progress
Track and report team performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
Promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability
Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies and frameworks, including Scrum and SAFe
Support Agile Release Train (ART) coordination efforts, if applicable
Assist in risk management and mitigation strategies
Facilitate communication between teams, stakeholders, and leadership
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, or a related field and 15 years of experience OR
Master’s degree in information technology, business, or a related field and 13 years of experience
Must have a TS/SCI with Poly to be considered
Active/current Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification
Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile software development environments
Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
Experience working in cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration
Excellent facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to track and analyze Agile metrics to drive improvements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well individually and within a team environment while maintaining professionalism with all stakeholders
Desired Qualifications:
SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification
Experience working in a DevSecOps or Cloud-based environment
Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile project management tools
Experience supporting Agile transformations within large organizations
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Agile software development lifecycle
Experience with Agile coaching at the team and enterprise levels
