**Job Summary**
VISTRA is currently seeking a Consulting PRA Engineer for their nuclear fleet.
PRA has responsibility for developing, maintaining, and applying probabilistic risk models to support VISTRA nuclear plants in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. The PRA models are designed to evaluate plant response in the event of an accident at a nuclear power station. They account for the design of plant systems and the responses of plant operators to potential accidents to evaluate the importance of systems and components to plant risk. Risk insights are used to improve safety and efficiency of plant operations and maintenance.
**Job Description**
**Key Accountabilities:**
+ PRA Modeling - Use industry software to maintain PRA model files in accordance with the ASME/ANS PRA Standard
+ PRA Applications - Perform analysis using the PRA models to support regulatory and elective risk-informed programs and applications (NFPA 805, Surveillance Frequency Control Program, 10CFR50.69, TSTF 505, Significance Determination Process, etc.)
+ Fire PRA Development - Development and refinement of Fire PRA model; PRA Documentation - Document model changes, supporting analyses, and PRA applications to efficiently and effectively establish model bases
+ PRA Project Management - Lead and manage PRA projects that involve multiple engineers and interface with multiple departments; PRA Software Testing - Perform testing and validation of new code versions and new software packages; Organizational Interface - Interface with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, IT, and other departments
**Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:**
+ Minimum 10 years’ experience directly working as a qualified PRA engineer.
+ Possess a minimum of a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program.
+ Have expertise in at least 5 technical areas in PRA modeling such as data analysis, thermal hydraulic analysis, accident sequence analysis, systems analysis, etc.
+ Have direct experience developing and maintaining internal events, fire, seismic, internal and external flooding, other external hazards screening models and related analysis.
+ Have direct experience developing and maintaining PRA applications such as Maintenance Rule, MOV, AOV, ISI, IST, SFCP, RICT, 10CFR50.69, etc.
+ Exert in use of EPRI software such as CAFTA/Phoenix Architect, Phoenix on-line risk monitor, MAAP, HRA Calculator etc.
+ Possess fundamental knowledge of nuclear, mechanical, and electrical theory and engineering principles
+ Possess fundamental knowledge of theory, design, systems, structures, components, and operation of pressurized water reactors and boiling water reactors.
+ Strong leadership skills with a high level of initiative with proven ability to serve as team project lead when needed
+ Professional orientation and effective interpersonal skills; effective communication skills in both written and verbal forms; collaboration and knowledge sharing.
**Key Metrics:**
+ Industry contributor in field of expertise to represent Vistra interests and increase knowledge of new technologies
+ Provides technical support on a fleetwide basis
+ Maintain effective working relationships.Be able to provide technical direction
