Gallagher Bassett Technical Services division (GBTS) is looking to hire a full-time Consulting Practice Manager to support the environmental operations practice area in our Poughkeepsie, NY regional office. The Consulting Practice Manager will be responsible for helping oversee the operations and growth of the environmental consulting practice. Reporting to the Branch Manager of Environmental Consulting, this role involves managing commercial pursuits, maintaining project pipelines, recruiting and developing staff, coordinating practice activities, and ensuring the financial health of all projects. The position will also manage practice knowledge, analyze staff skills gaps, and support marketing initiatives. This position is based in Poughkeepsie, New York, with occasional travel to client and marketing events in the Tri-state area. The role will be partially billable to projects, with an estimated 35% of time dedicated to billable project work. You will work as the leader of an environmental consulting team and support the strategic direction, client interactions, and technical deliverables associated with branch projects. Position details: Pay: Up to $80K/yr - depending on experience Hours: M-F 40 hours a week In-Office position based in Poughkeepsie, NY How you'll make an impact Support environmental consulting commercial pursuits (proposal/report tracking and development and resource gathering). Maintain project pipeline status and accuracy (salesforce.com). Work with our corporate talent team and Resources Manager to recruit, onboard, and assist with the development of staff. Conduct weekly and other periodic practice coordination meetings. Evaluate practice financial health and accounting of all projects using GB internal project management and assist staff with the same. Manage practice knowledge, resources, and Sharepoint data as needed. Work with the Branch Manager to analyze staff skills gaps and facilitate training and certifications as needed. Partner with Marketing Manager to define and execute marketing initiatives. Assist with Branch Manager calendar management and meeting scheduling. Perform ad hoc administrative and commercial support tasks as needed to support overall branch operations. About You Required: Bachelor’s degree or experience in business administration, environmental studies, or related discipline Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in professional /consulting services (consulting/legal/accounting) practice operations. Must demonstrate project management, team leadership, and the ability to manage operations and teams effectively. Recommended/Desired: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred but not required. Experience with Salesforce and or financial software preferred but not required. Able to effectively prioritize assignments. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented. Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) Knowledge Financial Management: Knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and financial planning. Project Management: Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies. Human Resources: Knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff development processes. Marketing Principles: Understanding of marketing strategies and account-based marketing. Understanding of how field professionals help our clients address laws and regulations. Skills Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Organizational Skills: Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and setting priorities. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and implement them effectively. IT Proficiency: Competence in using relevant software and systems, such as Microsoft Office, Salesforce.com and SharePoint. Abilities Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze financial reports and project data to make informed decisions. Adaptability: Flexibility to handle various tasks and respond to changing priorities. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact professionally with clients, staff, and stakeholders. Attention to Detail: Precision in managing administrative tasks and ensuring compliance with regulations. Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
