Summary:
The Consumer and Regional Banking Scoring Director will lead a team of managers and analysts in the development of models for use in the origination and portfolio management of consumer and regional banking products. This includes products such as auto loans, home equity lines, unsecured loans, credit cards, small business loans and leases. The Director will partner with lines of business to ensure that models and strategies are developed to optimize the banks objectives within the risk tolerance parameters. The Director will serve as the primary point of contact for the scoring products with internal and external review partners and regulators.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the development of consumer and/or commercial credit loan origination and portfolio management modelsDirect analysis of credit portfolio performance data and the impacts to the model suites deployedEnsure appropriate ongoing monitoring, analysis and reporting of existing model suitesResearch new modeling methodologies and techniques and lead team in ensuring methodologies remain consistent with changing industry standards and Huntington’s internal risk tolerancesWork with various team within the firm to support governance, audit/compliance and validation projects related to the developed models. Interact with 1st line business partners to ensure the optimal and accurate use of the models developedDesign and implement best practices for the quantitative analysis of fair lending impacts of models and strategiesBasic Qualifications:
Master’s degree in quantitative field (mathematics, statistics, engineering, finance physics)10+ years of experience in statistical modeling using SQL, SAS, R and Python that may be a combination of work experience (at least 1 year) and study project.5+ years leading a quantitative function at a regional or large US bank.5+ years of experience in machine learning and data miningPhD in quantitative fieldHands-on experience in consumer loan origination scorecard modeling in portfolios such as Home Lending, Auto Lending, or Unsecured Lending.Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in quantitative fieldAbility to lead complex projects and supervise managers and analystsKnowledge of fair lending model and credit strategy analyticsDemonstrated strong analytical skillsStrong communication skillsProficiency in MS Office productsFundamental understanding of economic concepts as it relates to credit performancePassion and drive to operational excellence and quality delivery
