Position Summary
The Consumer Banking Operations Audit Assistant plays a pivotal role in leading audits and operational reviews for Consumer Banking. Their primary responsibilities include coordinating audit processes, acting as the main liaison between the Operations department and internal/external auditors, and ensuring seamless communication among all parties involved. This involves researching, organizing, and delivering requested audit documentation, locating and compiling information, and providing timely responses to auditors.
Additionally, this role supports critical departmental functions such as processing overdrafts, handling returned and deposited items, managing merchant/mobile/ATM/ITM deposits, and performing quality assurance tasks like transaction reviews and report validations. Other key duties include data validation and entry, monitoring accounts, conducting red flag and high-dollar reviews, reviewing levies, assisting with dormant account oversight, and managing various administrative tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
+ Leads all audits for the Consumer Banking department, including Operations, Digital Banking, and Contact Center, by preparing documentation, compiling requests, and assisting with reviews of records, processes, and controls.
+ Independently researches, locates, compiles, and provides data/documents/reports for internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and other reviews.
+ Uploads audit-related information to secured third-party portals for Central Operations audits.
+ Acts as a liaison to other Bank departments requiring Central Operations-related information for audits or reviews.
+ Prioritizes and manages requests for multiple concurrent audits within Central Operations.
+ Collaborates with department leaders and subject matter experts to address complex audit inquiries; ensures accurate and timely responses.
+ Creates and maintains systems for organizing and storing audit-related requests and records.
+ Develops and updates procedures for departmental audit processes and ensures adherence to record retention guidelines.
+ Handles key departmental functions, including:
+ Preparing, printing, and mailing notices/letters.
+ Conducting quality assurance (data reviews, report validation, etc.).
+ Processing overdrafts (notices, monitoring, charge-offs, and reporting).
+ Reviewing dormant accounts and conducting account research.
+ Performing operational and contact/maintenance change reviews.
+ Processing levies, red flag reviews, and large-dollar transactions.
+ Conducting Reg E reviews, stop payments (daily checks and bank checks), overdraft fee reversals, IRA transactions, and returned mail.
+ Managing asset verifications, ACH processing/exceptions, and maintaining deposit account disclosures/forms.
+ Assisting with IOLTA reconciliation and reporting.
Position Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree and one year banking, audit, or equivalent experience OR High school diploma or equivalent, and three years banking, audit, or equivalent experience
+ General understanding of banking concepts, banking operations, products, and services
+ Advanced computer skills including Adobe, MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word
+ Excellent organizational and administrative skills
+ Ability to multitask in high pressure environment with short term deadlines
+ Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and follow up skills
+ Ability to successfully prioritize tasks and priorities
+ Ability to coordinate and collaborate with associates across different departments to compile information
