We’re looking for a Content Creator Design Intern at Hy-Vee, Inc. corporate office in Grimes, Iowa. POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Content Creator Design Intern, you will work closely with the content marketing and creative teams to design, shoot, edit, and publish multimedia content across various social media platforms. This internship offers a dynamic environment where you'll gain real-world experience in both the creative and production sides of social media content. You’ll have the opportunity to showcase your graphic design, videography, and photography skills while assisting with administrative tasks as needed.

REPORTING RELATIONS:
Accountable and Reports to: Multimedia Designer, and Director of Creative and Content Marketing
Direct Reports: None

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design Visual Content: create static and video designs for social media platforms using Adobe Creative Suite and various marketing projects.Photo/Video Production & Editing: capture and edit photo and video content, including product features, behind-the-scenes footage, recipe creation, how-tos, and promotional material for Hy-Vee’s social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, etc.).Collaborative Brainstorming: work with the Multimedia Designer and content team to conceptualize, storyboard, and execute creative content ideas that align with brand objectives and trends.Assist with Content Management: Upload, organize, and manage video content on platforms like Vimeo, ensuring all content is easily accessible and well-organized.Pre-Production & Support on Set: assist with planning, organizing, and assisting on-location shoots including: product acquisition, set-up, running errands, featuring as on-camera talent, and breakdown.Administrative Support: assist with daily administrative tasks such as asset management, project tracking in Monday.com, data entry, and other related duties as needed.Meet Deadlines: adhere to tight deadlines and multiple project timelines while maintaining high standards of quality.Stay Updated on Trends: monitor and report on emerging social media and design trends to ensure our content remains fresh and engaging.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of design principles, including typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy for both static and video content.Comfortable with shooting and editing video content (basic color correction, transitions, sound effects, and animations).Willingness to be featured on camera as talent in content for Hy-Vee’s social platforms when necessary.Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.Ability to work in a collaborative environment, share ideas openly, and accept constructive feedback to improve output — while also able to work independently with minimal supervision.Flexible and able to pivot quickly when priorities or direction change in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.Knowledge of Mac computer systems and programs, including Microsoft Office software, Outlook and project management platforms. Well versed in job-specific programs in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and PremierPro, After Effects, Lightroom) and Keynote.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:

1. College student majoring in graphic design, visual arts, multimedia design or a related field.

2. Relevant coursework required.

3. Must be a junior or senior status.

4. Digital portfolio submission required with application. Portfolio of your design work, including any branding, video, photo, and social media projects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Visual requirements include seeing detail at close and far range with or without correction.Must be physically able to perform light work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects andsometimes standing or walking.Must perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The duties of this position are performed in Grimes, Iowa in an open office setting, and at times remote from home and/or on-location. There may be light travel involved.
