Bloomberg Media are looking for a Content Licensing & Business Development Executive/Manager who will champion Bloomberg Media's existing portfolio of content licensing clients across Europe and generate revenue for Bloomberg Media from content licensing, syndication and group subscriptions.
As a sales executive/manager for the European market, your primary focus is to drive growth for our content business, develop new commercial opportunities, and lead existing accounts. You will be a key player in the continued growth of Bloomberg Media's licensing and business development team, and we expect you to be innovative in your approach to demonstrating our broad portfolio of multi-platform media assets to defend our business from traditional publishers, broadcasters and digital players, while moving beyond to develop new opportunities from a corporate, academic, and IR/Marketing related client base.
You will need to work independently but seamlessly with the Asia-Pacific & Americas sales teams to collaborate and support one another to grow new revenue and deliver on global commercial goals. The position is based in Bloomberg's London office.
Grow revenue and meet sales targets across Bloomberg Media's suite of media productsProactively identify and pursue revenue generating opportunities with both new and existing clientsBe responsible for the sales funnel from research and prospecting to, qualifying, securing meetings, pitching, negotiations and closingDraft proposals, prepare client presentations, maintain accurate customer records/interactions, and review legal agreementsUse your knowledge of the region to supply a strategic sales planThink creatively to identify new business opportunities including the application of our content across new industry verticals and platforms outside of media publishing (e.g. Digital, IR, Corporate, Education, Communications)Build strong client relationships in order to lead and deliver growth despite a challenging media environmentBe a strong standout colleague with a high level of passion for collaborating across functional teams (Ad sales, Accounts Receivable, Legal, Newsroom, etc) to provide operational support when requiredSupport and complete strategic projects for the Management Team as required
You'll need to have:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience5-7 years of sales and/or editorial experienceThe ability and desire to build and maintain relationships with clients and influence and persuade at all levels of a companyResilience, a high-reaching spirit, and a passion for prospecting and driving revenue growthAn understanding of the media landscape across Europe, including the major players across platformsA passion for business newsExcellent presentation, communication and negotiation skillsSelf-motivation & willingness to learnExceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work independently in a fast paced environmentPrior experience in content licensing and/or media companies is preferred
