Content Taxonomist

The Content Taxonomist is responsible for developing and maintaining the taxonomy for our digital asset management and other content creation system. This includes researching, defining, and creating taxonomies that accurately reflect our content, as well as ensuring that the taxonomy is used consistently across all channels. The Content Taxonomist will also work with other members of the information architecture team to develop and implement information architecture solutions that improve the user experience.

Responsibilities

Content Taxonomy Development: Design and create a robust and scalable content taxonomy framework that aligns with the organization's goals, objectives, and industry best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders, including marketing teams, Sales Operation, and IT professionals, to understand their requirements and ensure the taxonomy supports their need.Metadata Schema Design: Define and implement a metadata schema that integrates with the content taxonomy to accurately describe and categorize digital assets. Establish standardized metadata fields and guidelines for consistent and efficient asset tagging.Taxonomy Maintenance: Continuously update and enhance the content taxonomy based on evolving business requirements, industry trends, and feedback from users. Regularly review and revise metadata schema to ensure it remains relevant and aligned with organizational objectives.User Training and Support: Provide training and support to content creators, DAM administrators, and other system users to ensure understanding and adoption of the content taxonomy. Develop comprehensive documentation, guidelines, and training materials to facilitate user education.Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, creative, IT, and data management, to ensure the content taxonomy aligns with their respective needs and supports effective collaboration and workflow efficiency.Governance and Compliance: Establish governance policies and procedures for the content taxonomy, ensuring compliance with data management standards. Monitor and enforce adherence to taxonomy guidelines across the organization.System Integration: Work closely with the IT team to integrate the content taxonomy into the DAM and content creation workflow solution. Provide guidance on system requirements, data mapping, and integration points to ensure seamless operation and data consistency.Applies advanced subject matter knowledge, leads, and contributes to complex projects, and exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing policies.Develops and builds productive internal/external working relationships and provides mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.



Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in marketing, data analytics, or a related field.
