Job Description: Continuous Improvement Business Systems Specialist (PPI)
Job Description
The PPI Business Systems Specialist will facilitate implementation of the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System at the workstream level to enable efficiencies, increase employee engagement and enhance customer experience. The position collaborates with key stakeholders at gemba to lead by example leveraging RCCM, PPI training, lead projects and kaizen events by deploying structured problem solving to improve systems and eliminate waste. The role involves facilitating the lean fundamentals, such as visual management/5S, value stream mapping, standard work, metric boards, stand-up meetings and project funnel coordination. It also involves developing capability in these areas by training teams and providing coaching through the events.
Job Responsibilities
Lead/work with functional teams to enhance processes to improve customer experience and spread an action-biased culture of continuous improvement to improve critical metrics, in the areas of customer, finance, people and qualityProvide support to develop problem solving capability within the organization at all levelsTrain, coach and follow up with teams to ensure system improvements are sustained and running the processes independentlyWork closely with site PPI steering committee to identify ways to accelerate the culture change necessary to support the PPI Business SystemProvide ongoing support to teams deploying rapid responder teams on the floor to drive countermeasuresHelp teams identify new projects through value stream mapping, data analysis and daily management systemsWork with the PPI Network to benchmark, develop, promote and standardize processesMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, operations or businessStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organizationA critical thinker who can evaluate the entire site to integrate and streamline systems for optimal advantage.Able to drive continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value streamsPassion for driving improvement and leading changeProven record for developing and training teamsGreat communicator, including solid written, oral and presentation-giving skillsBroad knowledge of multi-functional processes and financial business methodsHigh ethical standards to support a professional business code of conductCreative problem-solving skills, organizational and time management skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Leadership roles from fields like operations, commercial, engineering, quality, or product managementA Lean Practitioner with 3+ years of experience and a ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing successful TPS fundamentals including elements such as:Visual management/5S, metric boards, value stream mapping, stand-up meetings, standard work, and project funnel coordinationExpertise in problem-solving through the use of a formal program/processThis position has NOT been approved for relocation assistance.
