Continuous Improvement Engineer
Job Title Continuous Improvement Engineer Position Overview Shaw is hiring a Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead CI projects to enhance efficiency and overall performance at plant 4. This person is responsible for training, coaching, and mentoring continuous improvement resources to build capability and sustain improvements. The role will drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices and fostering collaboration across teams. Responsibilities: + This position must have a passion for continuous improvement culture; have the presence and leadership required to enact plant and divisional change; be approachable yet demanding; possess exceptional ability to coach internal and external teams. + Be a leader of continuous improvement through facilitating assigned team activities such as team meetings, Kaizen events, Leader Standard Work, project deliverables, etc. + Plan and lead activities to ensure project deliverables and other work are produced timely and outcomes are achieved in accordance with established protocols and procedures. + Be expert consultant to project teams and plant management on program decisions, strategy, design, and analysis methods, and if needed, leads investigation (with collaboration from internal and/or external experts) to support process improvement efforts. + Lead change management efforts to ensure seamless, flawless execution and engage support from divisional leadership to the process level. + Partner with key stakeholders to develop detailed, comprehensive execution strategies and plans. + Develop and supports productive relationships with business partners + Serve as Waste Champion for plant + Support plant with ongoing initiatives such as Standard Work, Record Retention, IE Audits (Yarn Case, Length, MRM, etc.) + Support plant through building tools/dashboards with key metrics information utilizing systems such as Ignition, Power BI, etc. + Coach and support members of IE Team + Other continuous improvement project work as assigned by management Requirements: + Proven extensive use of Kaizen, Leader Standard Work and Standard Work, 5S tools. + Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with attention to detail. + Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously and under tight schedules. + Knowledge of data collection and interpretation; blackbelt preferred + Experience in project management, associated principles, and tools are preferred. + Tenacity to accomplish tasks, follow-through, and meet deadlines. + Bachelor’s degree with additional training, experience, and demonstrated capability Competencies + Drive Results + Plan & Organize + Influence Others + Coach & Develop + Build Trusting Relationships + Facilitate Change Shaw b enefits include: + Medical, dental, and vision insurance + Life insurance and disability coverage + Tuition reimbursement + Employee assistance program + Health savings account + Paid Time Off + Parental Leave + 401K and Retirement Plans + Product discounts for employees + Adoption a ssistance + Shaw Family Health Center (Dalton, GA , and Cartersville, GA, location s ) Work Shift 8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM Shaw Industries is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
