The incumbent is responsible for providing technical expertise to evaluate processes, develop and implement improvement ideas/initiatives at the Añasco site. Will develop, plan, and execute activities for data gathering (i.e. Observations, VSM, etc.), analysis (Flow, NVA, Statistical, etc.) and apply lean six sigma tools to improve processes at the site. This role may work standalone, as a team member or team facilitator as required by each assignment. May also prepare implementation strategies, timelines, budget, track and prepare progress report and or presentations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Employ continuous improvement methodologies and tools that directly improve the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Engagement (SQDCE) business results for Global Operations.
Lead, facilitate or enable others to execute continuous improvement events including, but not limited to Workouts, Kaizens and Workshops.
Lead or enable others to execute activities such as process flow, value stream mapping, standard work, etc., to reduce waste and cycle time, improve flow and productivity for critical workflows.
Work with process-owners towards results orientation, problem solving, improvement tool selection and data analysis.
Assist in the advancement of Lean training, and in the broader understanding and use of daily Lean management and use of Lean Tools.
Work cross-functionally with site and functional resources to identify opportunities, engage participation, and execute upon opportunities to meet shared goals.
Exercise project management skills towards improvement delivery and results and manage the relationship between improvement teams and stakeholders.
Drive and embody a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Work within formal systems, such as cGMP, ISO, CE to ensure that new processes or process improvements are in conformance with compliance requirements.
Training and supporting others in continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform any other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Engineering Field Bachelor’s Degree required; Preferably Industrial, Mechanical
Preferred Certifications: Lean and/or Six Sigma Certifications
3 to 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing industry or equivalent relevant experience/know how in a Lean Manufacturing and/or cGMP environment.
Strong analytical and logical skills.
Strong planning, organizational and effective project management practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Strong computer literacy, in particular MS Office (ie: Word, Excel).
Ability to successfully collaborate with teams.
Fully bilingual (English/Spanish).
Willing to work irregular shifts, sporadically as per business needs.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as per business needs, up to 10%.
